HT/CDM 1250

Post by newradioguy9 »

New to the software working with the 1250 series. Could anyone help me with how to make P3 on the HT1250 a zone select, as zone is not in the drop-down menu under conventional buttons.

For the CDM1250, is anyone familiar with how to make 2 channel direct buttons (i.e. P1 goes to a home channel, and P2 will go to Ch.14 in Zone 1)

I would appreciate your input....... Thank you

P2 is usually used for zone just for the reason that it's also the down button and you don't have to move to a different button to scroll thru the zones. don't know why they didn't put available in P3? and you can only have 1 home channel assignment.

Are you trying to program the function buttion(s) for a SHORT press or a LONG press?

Short press = Just press a button normally and then release. Don't hold the button down.
Long press = Press AND HOLD a button for the minimum time required to be recognized as a long button press.

The minimum time required to hold a button down to be recognized as a long button press is programmable. I like 2 seconds for a long button press.

Programming a function button for a short or long button press affects what programmable functions are available for each button. You may need to explore what functions are available for a short and long button press. What you're looking for might be buried in there.

Short/Long button press example: "Sticky Permanent Monitor" is not available to be programmed as a short press (won't find it in the menu) but is available to be programmed as a long button press (shows up in the long button press menu). IIRC (I'm not at my programming PC at the moment and am writing this from memory, so bear with me), Sticky Permanent Monitor won't show up in the Long Press menu if Monitor isn't first selected in the short press menu. So now the top side button on my HT1250 programmed for Monitor does both functions, short press = monitor, long press = sticky permanent monitor.

I recommend exploring both the short and long button press menus to find out what functions are available for each function button.

Good luck.

it's not a short/long press issue, open a codeplug and look at the options, not all options are available in all spots, unfortunately this one is not available in p3
