I have a few of the Commander II mics on the way, should have them tomorrow or the next day. Wonder if there's any big change in how they look or operate.

Re: xts 3000 hhch question
With any luck, maybe the Commander II has at least some noise cancelling in it. I like my Commander mic, but it hears *everything*... my old NMN6191 is significantly better on fire scenes.

It does-- it comes with windporting, and apparently will still pass audio when the mic speaker grill is wet.tvsjr wrote:With any luck, maybe the Commander II has at least some noise cancelling in it. Jeff,
What's your opinion of them so far, now that you have some?

Vote for Pedro.
Re: xts 3000 hhch question
I have not actually used one but they do look to be built a bit better than the older one. The pc housing is of the same design as the GPS mic now (as opposed to the emergency speaker mic) which makes me wonder if this model is submersible. I know the GPS mic is submersible, and it has the channel selection knob on the top. The new Commander seems to be the GPS mic minus the GPS.
