Part 80 Approved base Station

Post by spareparts »

I am trying to find a Part 80 Approved base Station
It looks like the 40 Watt MTR 2000 is approved under ABZ89FC3785. I'm trying to determine if the 100w version is allowable under Part 80 as well.

Probably not: No VHF-FM transmitter can be used in Part 80 service under a Maritime Mobile license that is capable of power exceeding 25 watts (Tx power at antenna input), and the most that can be licensed under a Limit Coast license is 50 watts (ditto). See 47 C.F.R. sec. 80.215(c)(1).

OK - was curious if it was dialed back to 50w if it would be OK. Guess not.
