EX560 and CPS

Post by giardinop »

Does anyone know what version of the CPS will program the EX560? I am a licensed user with a subscription but I was wondering if I have to run the new version we got a couple of months ago or if I can just stay with R06.05.00. 06.05.00 has been good and I usually don't update when I have something that is stable and working. As a public safety agency the software revision is not mission critical for us as long as we can keep the radios operating.

We are looking at the 560 for a specialized Rapid Deployment Unit.

i havn't done an ex in a long time or at least since motorola changed the requirements needing new cps for the new firmware like in the 1250's and 1550's but i would like to know if that change was also made on the ex's? just try to read it, the worst that will happen is it will tell you it's too old or not compatable. and as far as you stated it's not critical updating your cps or even firmware, if you do update it, you will find more functions and options available along with fixes for known problems.

You don't need to update the EX560 radio firmware, you need to update your CPS version. 6.04 does not recognize the EX560 as a valid model, therefore you cannot program it. Get the latest CPS & you shouldn't have any problems.
