HT1250 & MDC Messages
I have a set of HT1250's and for whatever reason, when MDC messages are sent between them the radios do not decode the messages. They are set to decode Messages in the MDC System personality. They are also set to send Messages in the Signalling Configuration.
The radios have the identical (numerically) set of MDC messages.
Any ideas to why the radios will not decode MDC Messages?

Re: HT1250 & MDC Messages
how old is the firmware? some of the original radios did not support this. next, are you saying the radios are identical clones of eachother? if so you have to change id numbers in one of them

The ID's are already changed, one radio is R05.09.06 and the other is R05.00.03.

Are you saying the firmware is R05.09.06 & R05.00.03 or are you saying that the MDC ID is R05.09.06 & R05.00.03?gatekeep wrote:The ID's are already changed, one radio is R05.09.06 and the other is R05.00.03.
The MDC ID's need to be different numbers, you also need to have some distance between radios. Having the radios next to each other overloads the receiving radio, and the will not display the MDC info.

Re: HT1250 & MDC Messages
If by messages you mean MDC status messages and such, only consoles can decode them. It does not work radio-to-radio.
The only radios Moto makes that can send messages directly is the newer XTS line with TMS.

I understand this. [EDIT]Corrected post after reading the previous post and CPS help better.[/EDIT]Josh wrote:If by messages you mean MDC status messages and such, only consoles can decode them. It does not work radio-to-radio.

Re: HT1250 & MDC Messages
You need to have different MDC IDs for each radio. When one radio hears and encodes an MDC signal and deciphers its own id, it does not display the id. E.g. Two radios are programmed to the same freqs and radio one is programmed with MDC ID 1 and radio two is programmed with MDC ID 1. Radio two talks to radio one. MDC information is transmitted and then received by radio one. Radio one decodes the ID to be 1, that radio in turn thinks, that is my ID, I don't need to display that ID. But, if radio two is programmed with the ID of 2, when radio one decodes radio two's ID it decodes 2. Because it is a different ID, it displays the newly decoded ID.
Firmware does not matter in this case. You just need to come up with different ID numbers for each radio.

Re: HT1250 & MDC Messages
Newer firmware revisions of this radio support status and messages. Older firmware revisions don't. I've had several of both.
