Most likely this is a firmware issue: Motorola issued XTS5000 and XTS2500 before all of the claimed features could be implemented in firmware.

The test is to program a QCII channel and then program a menu item for "VMute" (necessary in the P25 radios to enter into muted QC state). Select the channel and then see of the "VMute" function is visible in your menu. If not (usually a blank space), it is a firmware issue.

There's also a SRN out for QCII and XTS radios. You'll probably want/need to upgrade to the latest firmware. I don't have the SRN in front of me, but it does cover a few different sets of tones.

You said your host is R07.01.. You solved your own problem right there. QCII is only avail on R08.00.. and above.

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.
