I'm working on a few difference backup-transmitter and backup-paging options for our town and I need some info on costs. Approximation is fine, I just need somewhere to start. If I wanted to order a new two-wire RTPA circuit to go from a dispatch center to a tower about 20 miles away, how much $$ am I looking at for it. There are already existing RTPA circuits in place at both sites, just nothing in between these two already. I'm not worried about the cost of tone termination or console equipment at the ends. Just going from no circuit to a complete working circuit. Also, any rough idea how much the phone company will generally rip you off per-month on it. This AT&T if it helps.

AT&T is not the local operating company. You need to find out who owns the wire. In your case, it likely is SNET or SWB.
But to directly answer your question: For a 4 wire circuit in the Verizon service area across 2 wire centers (16 miles), the cost was $116.0) a month. When asked about a 2 wire circut, the cost was exactly the same!
Re: Cost to install an RTPA circuit
Do you recall if there was a setup cost?
SNET was bought by SBC a long time ago. SBC then was bought by AT&T last year. AT&T now owns the local equipment.

If you agree to a contract of 2 years or more VZ pro-rates the install down to nothing on the longer contracts. PM me terminating points & I'll see if I can get you pointed in the right direction for an engineering assessment.
Just be prepared for sticker shock if there is no copper to the TX site.
