Systems Saber securenet issues

I recently installed an NTN5833A module in my VHF Systems Saber III (replaced the bypass module). After the swap I turned the radio on and it worked normally. I then went into the RSS and turned on securenet, wrote to the radio, and now in both Clear and Secure modes I can key up and the TX light will come on, and then the radio will make a solid tone. The radio will not TX or RX at all. What do I need to do to fix this?

Is the radio set as "strapped" in encode mode? It will ignore the encrypt/clear switch if so and won't transmit without a key...

I don't think it is strapped. I could flip the secure switch and the icons would change but no TX or RX at all.

Sounds like you are having the same problems as I am.....
See the forum I started -

1 Radio has a By-pass module and 1 had a DES Board..
Radio keys up and then I get a steady tone. This is with the securenet disabled.....

See if it was modified for Fasinator encryption. Look for added wiring on the back of the main board.

Is this the radio you got from unlisted? If that's the case, it wasn't modified for Facinator. I had one that came from the same source and it worked just fine.

Neither of my radios were from unlisted but I did notice a extra wire on the back of the Controller board. It runs from the area of the securenet board to the top of the board. Is this my problem????

I didn't notice any extra wires for Fascinator, and both my radios did come from unlisted. I turned off encryption in the RSS and it's working fine again. Just a minor irritant since I would like to have DES running in this radio.
