So all you want to do is add the letter C to the identifier? You should be able to do that no problem.

with MDC1200 you can have id's with 0-9 and a-e on the newer radios and the older ones a-f. The best thing to do in your case would be to use the call list in the radio. What you would do is program a id one of a kind in each radio and then in each radio you want to see who it was put in the id and then lable it I think you can do like 10 characters for each ID. So like id c125 would then be labled "Eng C-125." Onany radio with the call list made having that id would show it but any radio not programmed with a call list would just show c125. this will only work on some of the newer radios and some radios have smallers call lists then others like the HT 1250 I have over 120 ids but on my MCS2000 it will only take like 15 or so. The call list works great for me as in my dept are id's are first 2 the dept and the last 2 the rig so 3215 would be my dept eng and 3273 would be my detp amb. that comes across clean but when you get to the eng portable we have that as 325a and in the call list we labled 325a as "AFD 3215A" matching what we call it. The other thing is if 2 radios have the same id they will not show the id of the other matching id. like 3205 talking and sending the cherp will not show up on a radio also with 3205 as the id.
