RICK Repeater

Post by rcfdfireman »

I am currently trying to put a mobile crossband repeater together. I have a vhf gm300 16-channel and an UHF Radius 6-channel I think. My problem is with the UHF radio. How would I manually program the radio since I can't just put the RSS in Repeater mode?

If your making it a cross band bidirectional repeater your receive and transmit frequencies would be the same and your accessory connectors on both radios configured accordingly. (Done under radio wide configuration)
example: vhf radio tx would be 155._ _ _ _ and rx would be the same 155._ _ _ _
uhf radio tx would be 452._ _ _ _ and rx would be the same 452._ _ _ _
Setup your accessory connectors as follows:
pin 4 external alarm -out -no - high
6 null 1
8 null 1
9 emer switch - in - yes - high
12 null 1
14 pl/dpl & csq det out - no - low
Dip switches in rick (S2)
1,2,6,8,10,11 are all on
3,4,5,7,9,12 are all off
This configuration should start you on your way

Thanks for the post. I've got the radios hooked up now, but the RX radio stays keyed up. Any suggestions.

Best guess is that its seeing a cor signal. I'm guessing that your using some sort of pl/dpl on receive, just for kicks plug in a microphone and attach its hang-up clip, do this with both radios and let me know your results.......

For the initial setup I'm using CSQ on both sides and have a mic in both radios on-hook. The RX radio transmits as soon as I enable the RICK.
