Minitor 2 Ear Phone Jack Output

Post by firemed9 »

What is the output rating for the minitor 2 ear phone jack (watts / ohms) ? Is it different for the MIII,IV, or V?

In theory, could it feed 2 speakers, up to 20 feet away, without an amplifier?

Thank you in advance,
Steve.

In theory, yes....however, as a practical matter you probably wouldn't be pleased with the results. The minitors' output audio amps are quite low on power, less than 500 milliwatts if I remember correctly. If your external speakers are going to be used in anything other than the quietest office environment you should be using an external audio amp that will provide 5-10 watts per speaker that can be attenuated *at the speakers* with an L pad so that volumes can be separately controlled.
