Post by radiomad »

Hello. as in a previous post, i mentioned that i messed up the firmware in my gp680.

I have tried all the little tricks and found that i cannot correct it myself.

does anyone know where in the uk i can send my 680 to be re programmed by the experts at moto?

Flash the radio with the lab flashtool.

You have to activate "hardware codeplug only".Use Phase 3 to Phase 3 and don´t activate the other features. If you have still the checksum error, activate "application codeplug" too.
Don´t forget to set the regionalcode to EMEA and retune or restore the tuning data, when the problem is fixed!

IGNORE THE LAST POST.

I've found that the 680 does work with both transmit and recieve in conventional mode.

the problem is with mpt mode, the radio seems to find a control channel and starts to register on the system, but fails and starts to hunt again.

I know the settings are correct as i read a working radio and programmed my 680 with freshly read data.

the funny thing is, i flashed a 380 into a 680 and that does exectly the same but works fine in conventional mode.

the 680 worked on the system fine until i had to re-flash the firmware.

any ideas, as i would like to use this radio with mpt

Does your system need the ESN?
The ESN is blanked after programming a default codeplug.I havn´t found a way to set it until now.
I have found a solution to set it only for the GM/GP1200.

No,the ESN is encrypted in the codeplug.
