Centracom II+ and VOX Idea?

Post by wb4bli »

Hi, I am wondering if it would work ok if I decided to just use VOX to key my radios with the console? It is just to costly to use Remote Adapters. I haven't found a burner to program with either. So relay keying is I guess not an option right now. If VOX will work does anyone have a recommendation? I am using all Maxtrac radios with 16pin.

You'll need a four-wire control so your RX and TX audio are separated. Also you need to make sure you are NOT using tone keying. Without a tone deck, the function and guard tones will go over the air. I also envision a lot of front end clipping.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"
