H43 Remote Monitor and Radio Trace

I was trying to figure out the specs on this FlashCode option. It is pretty obvious what it pertains to, but does anyone know what is involved with its usage?

Doing a Google search I found that Remote Monitor keys the PTT for a set time, without any visual differences on the radio itself, and Remote Trace just keys the PTT at set intervals, I believe.

How would one activate this feature, should the need arise, though? MDC1200? Is it a option that needs to be activated from a console, like radio inhibit does?

it is also present in Waris series radios, remote trace is initiated by any mobile present, or console, i haven't seen it present as being able to be initiated by the portables themselves. it is an MDC command of some sort to the radio which opens the mic for a set period of time..
