Spectra Power On

Post by ldanna »

I have come across 2 types of Spectra control heads with different on off switches. One has a conventional push on push off switch with 2 states. the other is a momentary push button to turn the radio on and off. The question is whether you can modify the momentary style control head to stay on when power is removed so it will return to the on state when the radio has power reapplied? i.e after a power failure. the conventional should stay on since it toggles state mechanically?

Yes you can make it turn on with application of power.
There is a jumper across the FET on the control head board that needs to be added, a '000' ohm surface mount resistor.

If you add the jumper, the radio powers up in the DEFAULT.
On the default Mode, and without any scan, ect. Those settings which are held in memory go away with loss of power to the main power connector.
