Jedi audio adapeter & Jedi headsets

Post by nmfire10 »

I want to get something a little more stealthy than a speaker/mic for my various jedi/xts radios. I have a few questions:

That little audio adapter with the 3.5mm plug and the PTT button. Will any cell phone type headset work on that presuming you can deal with the threaded top? That seems very convinient since there is such a variety out there.

I see recommendations for the Pryme SPM-423 and similar. Where can I purchase these besides directly from Pryme?

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

:-?

We have had way too many failures with the Prime junk.

The regular 3.5 mm thre3 conductor plug will not stay in the audio adapter. Asumming you allready have the adapter.

The ones public safety and I use have the earphone with the clear curly tube into an earmold, and the small mic with PTT on it's seperate cable. With these earmolds you can hear everything just like the mold is not there and the radio too. Someone right next to you will not be able to hear the radio.

You can make an adaptor, 3.5mm threaded to the 2.5 mm jack to use a cellphone headset.

I have used the Hawk and Chameleon from this company, they worked well.

Earphoneconnect.com also has the type that you are looking for. (kind of like a cellphone headset or earbud) The only problem is that they are never really that durable.
