Motorola Comtegra Console

Post by KE9GK »

Hello Board,

Just picked up a Comtegra Console L1927 (2 chan) for use in a local fire department's backup dispatch office. I logged on to my MOL account to purchase the software RVN4149D so I could set up the paging aliases etc.....but mother /\/\ decided to cancel the part (probably has been for a while...but I never looked until now). My question to the board is.......WTF am I supposed to do now? This is the advanced version of the Comtegra...so front panel programming is out of the question. HELP....Please!

Also..looking for some parts - Radio Patch and Phone patch card for the above....see post in for sale/wanted

Reference the above part...I know the Phone patch option card TDN9909 contains the radio patch feature...it needs to be enabled in the software....does anyone know what the procedure is to enable that as well.

Thx in advance

well, the only place for parts that i know of is through MOL...and almost every part is at least 300 bucks. you might be able to get some from Gai-Tronics, they actually produced the comtegra, motorola just marketed it. i've never called 'em to find out though. they may be able to help you out with software to...i've heard rumor that there is a windows version of it around.

but the radio patch can be used without the phone patch card despite what the manual says. all you have to do is hold down lock while pushing radio patch. it will give you the options to select what channels the patch, then push the transmit button...you'll be all set.

What radios do you own?: Kenwood, Yaesu, ICOM, Motorola

BTW, Gai is pronounced GUY even though it isn't spelled that way. And when Motorola divested itself from doing business with Gai-Tronics, it certainly was not on Good Terms.
