I would (still) like to know if anyone has seen an XTX radio on 900 Mhz.
The largest dealer in Indiana does not know anything about this.

Re: XTS radios on 900mhz
Turner broadcasting in Atlanta has a few, a friend of mine is their sys admin and he's been forced to order them as well as XTL's as the GTX and MTS2000 have been discontinued. He refuses to play the game Motorola and Nextel are and Turner plans on keeping their 900 licenses and two trunking systems (one at Williams Street the other at Turner Field). I guess he'll be forced to get bent over buying them, but it isn't like Turner can't afford it. He says overall he's happy with them, hasn't tried putting them on 902/928 yet.

Re: XTS radios on 900mhz
As I've said in the past, it sucks to not have a resonabley priced radio for 900mhz. Where I am, we have a ton of maxtracs, MTX9000s, plus some scattered MCS2000, & Spectras.

I've had my hands on a 900mhz 2500i. Works pretty nicely, I like the audio better than the MTS/MCS.

Re: XTS radios on 900mhz
Just wanted to know if they really existed. Right now we are using MTX9250's but the lease will be up soon. I have to decide where to go from there.
What are the details on the Motorola-Nextel game mentioned above?
I guess I am out if the loop on that one.

Re: XTS radios on 900mhz
Ma M and Nextel tried many times to get Turner to go Harmony aka extend the craptel system but Turner said NO. For several reasons, mainly they are happy with their systems, and another one cited was that iDEN handsets cause too much RFI to nearby A/V gear.

Re: XTS radios on 900mhz
Ok, I get it now. They sent a team down here late last year pitching the same thing. We have absolutly no use for a cute looking "flip phone" here at the factory. The radios here take a lot of abuse. The ones that get run over by a fork trucks dont survive but most of the Waris MTX9250's can be repaired. Well there was the one that was run over by the PTO batwing mower, the guy brought a plastic bag of parts to the shop. We did reuse the knobs.

Re: XTS radios on 900mhz
yeah, Turner got the same pitch. From what my friend tells me, they are perfectly happy with their system (both of them), the performance of them, and the ease of interfacing them with Atlanta's 800 public safety system (turner field). iDEN sucks I am glad to see it on the way out. If I hear another person in a movie theater with their "where you at" Boost phone I'm gonna go ballistic...
