You're going to do a LOT of reading, here and in other places, to learn
about your radio.
Start with:
http://www.batlabs.com/visar.html
A lot of the material on this site will not be helpful to you at this point
but it will be eventually.
Then do a search on this Board for HT1000 and see what comes up.
The various Motorola sites may also still have some general information
although the radio has been discontinued.
We also have a knowledge base section of this Board that is temporarily not
available that will have a lot of useful data you can use when it comes back up.
Finally, be sure to carefully read the Forum Rules shown at the top of message
pages, especially the rules relating to the Motorola programming software.

C-COM,
Welcome to Batlabs!
If you already have the software, you will need to purchase a programming cable. There are several good "ribless" cables available for purchase on eBay. The cable that i purchased works very well, from valley_ent.
I do not know where you would be able to purchase the software to program the HT1000, if you do not already have it. However, I can tell you that the HT1000 and Visar radios are programmed using the same software.
If you are in the New York area, I can program your radio for you (my e-mail is [email protected]).
Cheers
