Micom-1 Suitcase

Post by redbeard »

Man, I'd love to have one of these. If you are in my neck of the woods and have more disposable income than I do you should check this out. It's an auction by the State of PA Surplus Property Division. They have 3 up for auction, so check the seller's other items for the other two not ending today.

This is not my auction, and I have no interest in the sale of these items. I wish I could buy one though! They were only $400 something each an hour ago...
Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why.

That's about as useful as a CB radio in a suitcase...

Not really; it is an MF/HF transceiver, and not a bad one. Of course, other than Maritime Mobile (if you own a boat), you couldn't get a license to transmit on any of the frequencies, but there is little relationship between a government/military/maritime HF set and a CB set.

That's like saying the SP Spectra suitcases (/\/\) used to make are just FRS radios.

Yes, these radios are channelized but that's fine. The channels are programmable. As for a license, I think my General ham ticket has me covered.

I want one so I can run hardware ALE with the folks from HF Link.
