JT1000 will not scan in MTVA

Post by SD70MAC »

I have an MTVA + VHF amp that I use with my MT2000 VHF A7 and it works great but when I put my JT1000 VHF in it the JT will not scan. It is stuck on the selected channel,I have tried to flip the dip switch on the bottom of the radio holder but this does not fix it. I have also removed the mic and put grounding plug in so it thinks the mic is in and grounded but no go. I have all the factory parts for the MTVA(holder, cables, and 25w VHF amp/controller) but not the mic that came with it. I am using a CDM mic because its what I had at the time and it worked with the MT2000. Anyone have any ideas ?

It's been a long long time since I played with a JT1000 however I suggest if you have one to try a VHF HT1000 and see what that does. Also your problem could be in the radio codeplug not the MTVA. Might need to do a little research into that. I don't have any JT1000 codeplugs else I'd look into it for ya.
