Systems Saber VHF question

Hi Rich here,

I picked up a Systems Saber III VHF. I want to turn on the MDC signalling feature. Under change/view pers signalling. I can only get the "decode only or disabled" for sel call and call alert. Its a Con 5 radio I believe. I am a bit rusty with these as I havent had one in about 12 years or so. Any Ideas where I need to go to get the encode/decode to activate on the above menu? Tnx Richy

Best as I recall, you have to have a CON6 or CON7 firmware to make that happen.

You might find a junker on eBay, and swap the front.

Dan you are right, as soon as I flipped the RSS to con 6 it shows up.. If anyone has a Con 6 board for this in VHF, let me know. I have stuff to trade or cash, whichever satisfies your Motorola jones..
