Centracom Gold elite Upgrade Question

We are in the process of upgrading a 2 position gold elite console to add a 3rd position

Position 1 is also the server
position 2 is just a position and position 3 is new

all 3 see the server fins and will load up elite dispatch and work but after a few minutes of operation we get an error that says the Pers Prom is taking to long to initalize or something to that affect and the whole system shuts down. Don't get any errors on any of the cards just the error on the computer.

Should of during the upgrade we have had new firmware or pers prom chips for the exisiting cards since the 3rd position included installing a 3rd card cage and coim card

Yes, all positions need to be running the same firmware on the coims, as well as the same version of gold elite on the pc's. Did you mupple the new coim first? There is also a bit in the tdm address switches that is for either mupple or gold elite, make sure that is in mupple when you first mupple it, then gold elite when uploading the coim from the op position. Are you getting the message on all positions?

Not for sure about the mupple are you talking about bit 8 which "M" says must be on to program then off to work. I have uploaded the new pers prom images guess I need to find out how to get firmware chips from motorola as the first coim cards were put in to servie in 01 and the upgrade done currently and will need to upgrade the software to the newest version as right now they are all running the same version which is from 2001

Okay, let me try to explain this right...
Mupple or Mupl - multiple upload software or ceb upload utility, its called something like that. Its software that lets you upload the image to the coim manually with a rs232 card, cable and pc

You may still be able to get it running with what you have.

1 you did add the operator position and coim to the CDM right?
2 you have the correct tdm address and mux, busy bus set right?
3 everything is cabled properly

after this, you need to mupl the coim first. Set bit 8 to program, install rs232 card above coim and plug in to pc and upload proper image to the new coim. It may fail the first time, thats common, retry it it should go after one or two times.

then set bit 8 back to run, you should now be able to start elite and it should work. any future updates can be done by restarting elite and telling it yes to upload new database.

Yeah I did that. I think the problem is the firmware it works for 10-15 mins then gives me an error and shuts everything own
