I have a UHF GM300 438-470 radio (16 channels) acting as a receiver in a GR300 repeater. Every now and then, it goes deaf/stupid on RX. I can key my UHF portable right next to it, and the RX light won't blink or do anything. The radio will acknowledge any button presses, but acts as if there is no signal present. The portable is fine, no issues there. I realize GM300s are cheap to replace, but I'd rather there's a simple fix for this than go out a spend $$.
I usually have to power cycle the repeater and then the RX radio is fine, or sometimes, after a while, it comes back on it's own. The previous company who had the repeater had the on/off position on the front of the radio bypassed, so even if you click it "off", it's still on - there is also no front-firing audio on the radio either (also bypassed or modded in some way), therefore I have to powercycle the whole unit to powercycle the GM300. The controller is the standard, factory Motorola RICK. TX radio is also a GM300.
Any suggestions?

Re: GM300 goes deaf?
Change Y52, (44.645Mhz) next to U51, on receiver system
Re: GM300 goes deaf?
Before changing the crystal, check the crystal operation.
