Astro Spectra/XTL5000 ?
Is it possible to convert Astro Spectra or XTL5000 radios to the w3/HHCH style control head or does it have to be the original configuration?

Currently only XTS5000 with XTVA, but looking at getting a UHF Astro Spectra, but dont have dash space for conrol head.

Would the configuration change require flashing the radio or is it something you can just change in CPS?

The XTL5000 will allow you to change heads in the CPS, it also requires the correct hardware. On the Astro Spectra, it is more complicated.
