Adding modes to a Maratrac

Post by racerman1cars »

Well I got a cable and 99 freq head for my Maratrac. it seems to be working but it only has 16 modes instead of 99. How are more modes added? this is my first Maratrac seems like a easy raio to program.

Check the programming, it may be set for the 8 X 2 head. 8 position two Zones.

To expand on what Will said, you have to use the RSS to set the radio for the advanced head. I don't remember off hand where you do this, but I believe you go through the service menu (F2 from the main menu), and I think it has a selection for "control head type", which should be set for "A7", IIRC. Beyond that, when in the "Change/view codeplug" menu, I believe there should be a "mode utility" selection (F8, IIRC). Select the mode utility, and select "add mode". You'll have to do this over and over until you get the number of modes you want. I may have a few details wrong here, as I'm going entirely from memory, and its been a few years since I've programmed a Maratrac, but this should be mostly correct. Good luck!
