XTS Control Heads

Post by Karfield »

I've been thinking of posting this question for a while just keep forgetting.

Has anyone managed to find a good source for the XTS control head parts? Mainly the ABC switch.
I remember the first time I had a bad switch I was able to order it, then the next time I had one I was not and had to order the 100 dollar housing for a 6 dollar part. (annoying isn't it?)

do you have access to motorola online? it can be found via exploded view for the specific radio. That is my source of part numbers. I can get you that part number if you need - let me know if its a 3000 or 5000

Was more of a general question.
I did manage to look up the ABC and it appears to be available. However look at the volume pot. Radio series is what 5 years old tops? Volume pot is currently obsoleted and I didn't see a replacement? Not sure if the parts guy at the APD knows this or not. Might have to drop a line to some folks I know.

In another turn of events the Visar LCD boards have also become unavailable. Not sure if it's a temporary thing but at 100 bucks a pop for that little thing I'd say good riddence. lol
