I have been having problems when using external mics on several different HT1250's. I have tried 2 different hand-held mic/speaker setups (Motorola HMN9052B) and two different 'covert' style 3-wire earpice/mic/PTT setups. I have tried these on seven different HT1250's and all have pretty much the same level of failure. The speaker parts work great but the mic part either does not work at all or it is very crackly. Sometimes on some of the radios I can get them to work a little bit by wiggling the connection around a bit but there does not seem to be anything consistent. I believe it is a connection issue on the radio side but I don't understand how all 7 of my radios have the same problem.
Any one have any ideas?
Thanks!

Have not seen this before, especially on so many of the same models.I coould not find any FSB from Motorola on this symptom.(Field Service Bulletin)
Are these lowband,VHF or UHF HT1250? If lowband, were the antennas cut to specific length for use with Remote Mics?

Sorry about the late response... Thanks, for the interest though!
Yes they are all clones of each other... some have some newer firmware then others but they are all AAH25RDF9AA5AN serial numbers. So UHF 403-470mhz. They do all carry the stubby (approx 3-4inch long) UHF antennas.
I'm wondering if this is just a connection issue because every now and then the mics seem to work but never consistently. And this issue is still across the board on all of our radios.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
