programming guides help needed

hi

i have some spectra rigs and some mts2000's. I am new to needing to learn how to program them .

Does anyone have any links to a programming guide for dummies.

Things i need to know the 'hidden gotchas' about the software /programming the rigs so i don't blow the radio or codeplugs , toolproofing, etc

i have all the right cables/computers etc i am strictly just concerned w/the above
