Cellwave 526 Duplexer

Post by FMROB »

Has anyone heard of using a 460-470 526 duplexer being able to tune up to the 470-480 band. If so, what are the neagatives or problems. Thanks, Rob

The 526 hardware will tune from about 406 to 520. They used different cable sets to obtain the desired performance in 20-30 MHz segments of the band. One cable set handled 440-470, another would be needed elsewhere. This is for 5 MHz offsets. The units can be adjusted for other offsets.

At one time a new 440-470 MHz cable set cost $250 direct from Celwave. I don't think you can buy anything from them any more as they are, for all practical purposes, out of (the duplexer) business. You can make your own cables for significantly less.

Bob,

That is what I thought. What is motorola doing for new Quantar purchases regarding factory order duplexers?

Thanks, Rob

Several years ago Cellwave was acquired by RFS. The 526 series duplexers are shown in their current catalog. The options are: 526-4-1, 406-440 Mhz; 526-4-2, 440-470 Mhz; 526-5-1, 470-490 Mhz; 526-5-2, 490-512 Mhz. Motorola still supplies RFS Cellwave duplexers for use in their repeaters.
