We use the Motorola Mag One BPR40 radio's at our golf course/resort. I would say there are about 60-70 radios that utilize all 7 channels. Channel 3, the one that I primarily use, transmits a consistant clicking pattern randomly every day. This pattern sounds like somebody is clicking the talk button multiple times for about 10 seconds.
Somebody could be clicking the radio of course, but that is unlikely as we are ALL annoyed by this everyday occurance.
Is there something else that could be causing this noise??

Do they use accessories on the radio? It's possible that someone has a bad accessory (headset PTT, speaker mic, earpiece, etc.) that has a shorted PTT lead...

If it's Carrier Squelch (no tone on the channel), and it happens around computer equipment, then that's likely your culprit.
But if EVERYONE hears it (and they are all spread out over the golf course), then it could be intentional interference or as was mentioned, a faulty accessory connector.
