Thanks for the tip. I tried but without success. The backlight works from the display. Where can I still here after an error? Or is there a way of testing?Hightower wrote:There is no new display driver, like what happened to the XTS3000's 2 versions of it's display.
Sounds like there is a problem with the radio itself - not the display.
carefully inspect the connector where the display plugs in for bent/disformed pin.
You can power the radio with the front cover off, gently press the display
connector while powered up and see if it comes to life. There may be
a cold solder joint on the radio's side of the connector. Seen this problem
in the waris radios a few times before.
Good luck
I just repaired a unit (XTS2500) last week with the same symptoms. The problem was the with the flex connector. It had several bad solder connection, and I had to re solder the connector. It was very hard to see, so inspect that very carefully.GizmoSwizz wrote:Thanks for the tip. I tried but without success. The backlight works from the display. Where can I still here after an error? ok the flexband with the nr 3601 MFS ? i has re solded this flexband but nothing is changing ... only backlight is workz.n7maq wrote:Picture number 4, it was the bigger connector. The bad contacts were closer to the outside edge of the radio also.

Was the old display working before you changed it? I assume not, but I still need to ask. I would try the display in another radio, or try a known good display. Is your radio a factory radio? Is it a Model 1.5, 2, or 3?GizmoSwizz wrote:ok the flexband with the nr 3601 MFS ? i has re solded this flexband but nothing is changing ... only backlight is workz.n7maq wrote:Picture number 4, it was the bigger connector. the pins are ok what i can see on the 2 boards. other ideas ?
Yes before it was broken then everything worked. Is a Model 3!n7maq wrote:Was the old display working before you changed it? I assume not, but I still need to ask. That display was pressed. Not so much but it was nothing more readable. Therefore, it was exchanged.n7maq wrote:GizmoSwizz wrote:

How did the other LCD get damaged? Dropped, crushed, did the old one just stop working?
Have you tried another LCD, or tested the replacement? It would not be the first time that an LCD is DOA (bad out of box). That is the first thing I would check.
Jim
Where was it exchanged? If you cannot buy any, the exchange had to come from somewhere right? Maybe try exchanging it again and say that the display is bad out of the box... Just a thought.GizmoSwizz wrote:That display was pressed. Not so much but it was nothing more readable. Therefore, it was exchanged.
No, unfortunately I have no other displays available. This is my Problem and here i can not buy any ...
