cm300

Post by fire_master_21 »

I have a cm300 brand new in a box in front of me. I also have the newest CPS R05.07 and a factory ribless cable. I can't get this thing to read at all. I have tried a changing the com ports I get errors 512 and 768, uninstall and install of the cps. I have also tried to read the radio with a home made RJ45 cable with a factory rib. Still no love. any idea's. This is the first cm300 I have dealt with.

What cable are you using? One for a CDM? What homemade RJ45 cable are you using? One for a maxtrac,CDM, SM ?

If that is the case, the above cables will not work as is. The CM200/CM300/PM400 uses a slightly different cable. Pins 6 & 8 need to be shorted on the RJ45 end for the radio to be in programming mode. Motorola made an adapter that plugged onto the end of the maxtrac style rj45 cable then plugged into the CM series mic jack. The adapter also had a switch on it for putting the radio into bootstrap mode for flash upgrading. If you have a homemade cable you can short the pins yourself, but you would only be able to use it for programming and not for flashing. OR you can make a cable that plugs into the rear accessory connector of the CM series. You can program these through there as well.

i'm not shure how you are numbering your pins on your jumper but try the other side, jump 1 and 3, motorola numbers theirs opposite of the rest of the world

First I tried the OEM ribless program/flash cable. then the home brew with a factory rib. I get then same errors using either cable. However where I get a different error code on the pc screen is by switching com ports, but the text is the same for either code. 512 and 768

completely un install it and go to the website and download the newest one and install it from the zip file. and i think that cps comes with blank codeplugs so look thru your computer and find where the cps is and you will find lots to open.

I have downloaded it from the website. I can't seem to find any codeplugs that are built into the CPS or where it created a folder when it installed.

I found out that my factory cps disk was in deed corrupt. I downloaded it again from MOL, and I finally was able to get the radio to program. Thanks for the help.
