Please be gentle with the newbee. I have attempted to search the forum for answers but I have come up short handed.
I have three HT1550s and have been using the CPS software for programming. To say that CPS isn’t very user friendly is an understatement however I have been able to successfully program conventional frequencies. I now need to program in a trunked system. I have tried to figure it out but I’m hesitant to give it a go without some research first.
My question is – Is there a detailed instruction guide available from anyone that lists the steps needed to program trunked system?
I really appreciate your help with this.

Re: Programming a Trunked System into an HT1550
The HT1550 is a conventional-only radio.
The only Waris-form trunked portable I'm aware of is the MTX8250, which rebanding is now rendering obsolete (and, so far as I am aware, Motorola intends no replacement or upgrade). The MTX8250 is programmed with its own RSS package, which bears no resemblance to the "Professional" package used for conventional Waris radios; it looks, in fact, like the old MTR2000, which implies an Israeli heritage. The whole package was a bit klunky.

I think he means LTR trunking (or at least I hope so), which the HT1550XLS is capable of doing.
What is your usage of the radios? Are you adding them to a system that you are already authorized on? If so, ask the system manager to walk you through the parameters that are specific to that system, rather than ask for generic help on the internet.

Charge: Erroneously assuming that "trunking" means SmartNet/SmartZone/Astro.
Plea: Guilty.

i always thought that the 1550 cps was one of the easiest myself? and yes, it will only do ltr systems. and the big question, are you authorized to be on that system?

Yes, I am authorized to access their system however, I was trying not to be annoying to the hosting techs by asking for a favor to program the radio for me. If I can program it myself I would prefer to do so.
Thanks
Thanks

Trust me, you could cause them a lot more annoyances if it's programmed incorrectly. I would give them a call.cgalante wrote:Yes, I am authorized to access their system however, I was trying not to be annoying to the hosting techs by asking for a favor to program the radio for me. if you're authorized to be on the system then have them do it, if you do it and get it wrong and accidentilly take down their system you won't be authorized on it very much longer once they track it down.

Incorrect programming taking down an LTR system?
Do you even know how an LTR system works? Or is programmed?
