Help with cdm1550 ls+ uhf

Post by Gocart878 »

Hi, I am going to admit i'm semi new to programming, but compared to my cdm1250 which i programmed this is much more difficult. first of all, i want nothing to do with any trunking channels at all, but i happened to get a good deal on ebay so i bought this. I am trying to program only conventional channels but am stuck with plane old ls trunking zones and basically a mess. send me a pm and i will send you the codeplug to see if i can get this straightened out. thanks

I should also say that i need to transmit an mdc code, "3906" and for some reason when i select my conventional channel the signalling section where i would select my mdc format is shaded off to the point where i am not allowed to select anything. any hints would be helpful

thanks

Most of the ls and ls+ models cannot do mdc signalling on conventional modes. They are also limited in the number of conventional channels they can hold. Post your model number and I'm sure someone can fill you in on exactly what yours can do.

if it's greyed out then it's not capable of it and you have to leave a trunking system in it, you can't remove all of them.

Just to elaborate on HLA. You have to leave at least 1 trunking personality and system in the radio but you do not have to include it in the Zones. This way it doesn't appear when you are using the radio.

A model CDM that will do MDC on conventional is one that ends in 6AN. Also has 160 conventional modes as well as trunking.
