HT750 Keyup Tone

Post by Jamesonp »

Hello everyone, I recently picked up a HT750 and love it. I just have one question, is it possible to make the radio beep (Similar to whats heard on the trunking radios) before transmitting to help reduce accidental keyups?

Thanks,
Jameson

One easy way to do this is to add MDC for the desired/all channels. In the properties, select PRE mdc and select SIDETONE. This ought to take care of your concern.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

that's not gonna prevent accidental keyups at all, that's just gonna tell everyone else who is doing it. if you wanna prevent accidental keyups you need to find a better location for your radio or make it recieve only.

At least this will indicate to the user that a) there is an unintended key-up and b) alerts the user when this is happening. This should be a good start to adapting his or her bevahior, movement and possibly carry options.
