XTS2500 RSSI

Post by SLASH40917 »

Hello, I have a xts2500 i'm using strictly in conventional band in the vhf public safety range. I cant get the rssi to come up on the screen like the ht and cdm's. Is is possible on this radio and if so how do i . I also need a channel to be closed and only activate when quick call are activated/or toned. How do i do this. I need a box for the tx personality only like the ht and cdm's have, however i cant find it. Any help is appreciated.

I believe this is only a feature of 700/800MHz radios, programmed on and receiving a trunked system.

The RSSI meter will only show up for trunking at this time, and not conventional operation.

As far as your QCII question.. Your radio needs to have at least firmware R08.00.00 or higher for it to function. What versions are you working with in your radio and CPS?

Here is a post with some basic QCII settings for the Astro25 radios... http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=62734

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Read the radio and look in the radio wide tab for the Host and DSP versions. Or, Power the radio up and press the lower side button below the PTT 5-times in a row within 10 seconds of power up. The revisions will read out on the radios display. It's sounding like you have older firmware in the radio..

Your firmware is too old to do qc2 decode. You need an upgrade.

Yeah, your firmware is older than dirt... Despite features you see in the current CPS, like QCII, your old firmware doesn't have a clue what those options are...
