Hotwire a motorola ht1000 headset to a gp 340?

Hotwire a motorola ht1000 headset to a gp 340?

I have a headset (peltor with boom-mic), connected with a nexus plug. A ppt unit is connected to the radio (originally a HT 1000) but I am trying to get it to fit on a GP 340. I just cut of a speaker-mic belonging to a GP340, and have connected ptt to green and blue wire, audio on white and black. Mic is on red with a resistor (patched to green ptt wire) and yellow. But I only get very weak sound from the mic.

Anybody that can point out my errata (errors?)?
