Saber II / III Scan and Convertacom channel revert

Post by ledzep11 »

I have a SaberIII that is stuck on priority scan. Does anyone know how to program the scan in non priority only? I programmed both the mode slaved, and the selectable scan and left the priority 1 and 2 blank, but you can still hear it "sampling" when scan is turned on. Another question...I have a convertacom that when you put a saber 2 or 3 in it, reverts the channel to zone one, channel 7 every time. Any ideas on what might cause that? I was wondering if the Alphanumeric mike is programmed some how to do that...

For the scan issue with the Saber III unless you have the "2nd Fixed Priority" option enabled under "Mode Slaved Scan" in the RSS the radio automatically uses the channel that you initiate the scan on as the 2nd priority channel regardless of whether you have anything assigned to the priority slots in the scan list. This is called a "floating" priority. Enabling the "2nd Fixed Priority" option will fix your problem. It tells the radio to scan only the priorities that you have assigned in the scan list and if you don't have any assigned it won't look for them.
