A-3 Spectra and Typr II trunking
Has anyone seen or heard of an analog Spectra with A-3 head that does Type II Motorola trunking, I have a new toy I want to convert to Type II trunking, and before I hose the radio I want to know if they were even made capable of it.

I wouldn't see why not. In fact, I am pretty such I saw such an option, for at least the "E" series spectra's...but don't quote me on that.

They only way to do one would to be to possibly hack the radio, A3 uses a different MLM than a regular A5/A7, it would need to be converted to a "C" series. It is doubtful that it would have any kind of type acceptance, or would any sys admin let you on their trunk with it. Otherwise, it should go smoothly.

Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...
