We have a bunch of cdm 1550 ls+ vhf radios in our fleet and I just noticed there are two different types of radios (part number) and anytime I have to update the radios, I have to re-enter the information for the other radio AGAIN.
Anyway, one part number is aam25kkf9d P 6an and the other is aam25kkf9d U 6an. What is the difference between the 'P' and the 'U' models?
Also, is there a way to modify the firmware to allow only one code plug to do the updating? 160 channels for the same radio is just a PIA to modify.
Thanks for your consideration in this matter.

Re: Differences between two cdm 1550 ls+ radios?
seems one is a cdm1550ls and the other is a cdm1550ls+
no way to clone between the two, as you've seen, due to the model number mismatch
you can try an export/import with .csv files but i've found it's not a very reliable copypasta method of moving programming information

Re: Differences between two cdm 1550 ls+ radios?
Thanks for the information. I seem to remember we got some other CDM 1550 LS+ units that had only 16 conventional channels. Here I was telling the department that the 1550 LS+ was the radio that had the 160 conventional channel capability. Now I am stuck with 5 of these units. Again M strikes again. I guess I am stuck with the job of creating two different code plugs for the two different radios. At least the other radios only have 16 channels to deal with. They are the new marine radios (no changes there).
