HT1250 and option board programming faux pas

Post by jeremyn »

Anyone know how to "reset" an HT1250 LS+ that has been programmed for an LTR system w/option board support....that apparently doesn't actually have an option board installed (other than the voice storage board)? The display and backlight just blink on and off like it's power cycling, and turning the radio off won't stop it...the battery has to be pulled. I can't get into any other zone using the keypad/ch knob, and can't get into test mode either. Using CPS I get errors trying to read OR write the radio...probably due to the power cycling...

Thanks

that radio can do ltr without an option board so that shouldn't be an issue. can you load a default blank codeplug into your cps then try to write that to the radio?

I'm unable to write anything to the radio at all....
however it does have an awesome light show going on with the continuous power cycling it performs...

Also I have disassembled the radio looking for an option board but am unable to find one..

Thanks

that radio only has a spot for one option board so if there is a voice storage board in it like you originally posted then can't be another one. sounds like it just needs to be sent in for repair if you can't read or write to it

Yeah, sending it back to Circle M Ranch was definitely not worth it. But I did find a way to make it operational again.

Since the HT1250 LS+ has the voice storage board apparently integrated with the keypad board, I had to remove the flex from the keypad board (thus disabling the keypad/option board AND the display) which essentially turned it into a model 1, hook the programming cable back up, and re-write the radio with the corrected LTR personality so that it would stop looking for the option board, then hook the keypad flex back and and re-assemble it. Other than a small crack in the bottom of the casing that occured during disassembly, the radio is back to 100% functionality and working just fine....and now I have an excuse to upgrade to the full DTMF case.

Thanks
