MTX8000 B7 to Model II?
I have an MTX8000 B7 with a full keypad and the flex cable going to the side accessory port is bad, i replaced the front housing electronics and all with a model II limited keypad housing because i don't need DTMF, and the 6 front keys don't work. Is there a way to tell the B7 radio to accept the model II housing so the 6 front keys will work to switch zones? The model number is H01UCH6DB7AN, and I am using MTSX RSS 06.07.00.
"Archers."
"I beg pardon, sire. Won't we hit our own troops?"
"Yes....but we'll hit theirs as well. We have reserves....attack"

You can just take the board/flex and swap it into the old housing and you will have the full keypad back.JonboyOK wrote:I have an MTX8000 B7 with a full keypad and the flex cable going to the side accessory port is bad, i replaced the front housing electronics and all with a model II limited keypad housing because i don't need DTMF, and the 6 front keys don't work. You could "force" a MDL II codeplug in (you would need the correct level of RSS for this), but then you would have to re-align the radio.
