I just installed a MCS2000 VHF, 110W radio in my truck, programmed it, and now I have a few questions.
1. Priority Scan. I've set Priority 1 to Channel 1. Although limited, I've looked at some forums regarding priority scan sample time. It seems like it's set to at least 500ms. Is there any way to change this? It's too fast and hearing the audio fade in and out between priority check is driving me nuts. I've disabled it at this point.
2. How does the MCS2000's receiver perform as compared to a VHF CDM1250? Prior to the MCS2000 I had a CDM1250 installed in my truck and it seemed to perform better with the weaker & more distant stations. I still have the same antenna set up, 1/4 wave antennex, and permanent hole mount through the roof. Would 5/8 wave make a difference? (I know, loaded question.)
That's about all I have for now. Thanks in advance for your input folks.

Re: MCS2000 RX and Priority Scan questions
In regards to the priority scan it appears that in MCS2000 radios it is a fixed sample rate which I believe is 500 ms. And I agree, it does have an annoying fading aspect when it's activated that I haven't heard on other Motorola radios.
I'm not sure how it compares to a CDM1250 but maybe the squelch on your radio is set too tight? If you hold down the monitor button you should be able to tweak the squelch setting.
