Syntor X wiring issues

Post by pdblues »

Hi all,

I am working with 11 Syntor X units obtained by auction that I need some assistance with in the wiring process. When I hook up the necessary reds and blacks I get not much of anything (the cabling with the radios lists them as a negative ground setup). I think I have 2 ignition-sense leads that I hook up and also get nothing, there are some other leads that cause strange things to happen (siren to kick on when non-siren switches are turned on, etc.) and they don't seem to be doing what they should. I am just trying to power on the radio and get a sense for what problems (if any) need to be addressed.

Here's what I have:

Syntor X radio drawer (T63VXJ04AKSP03)
SIU Box (YLN1046A1)
HHCH
DVP box
Siren Amplifier Box and siren control head
LOTS of wire :)

I hooked all the necessary cables to their corresponding spots on the SIU box and to other places but can't get anything to work. I have a couple of wires running outside of the wiring harness that look as though they were run quite a ways from the radio drawer because there is a good amount of wire run. They are colored orange, blue and green. I believe org. and green were TX & RX ignition sense leads. I haven't found anything about blue yet.

There are also some leads coming out of the various other accessory boxes like a blue lead out of the DVP box, and a black and white lead coming out of the connector from the SIU for the siren box.

I'm totally over my head on this one as I've never done a syntor install so I never had to play with some of these extra leads. I have a friend sending my a MOT1 key to open these boxes. They are not keyed with a 2135, which was a little surprising to me.

Any assistance or information on installs, what some of these leads might do or how I can otherwise test the features of the radio would be a great help.

Thanks.

Mike,

Thanks, I will look into getting a copy of that manual. I wasn't sure if the manual would shed any light on the specifics of the wiring harnesses because I know a lot of the syntor's had special options and various other oddities during installs.

Take care.
