Motorola Visar Programmable Buttons

Post by fallspolice »

I have a Motorola Visar radio and I need to make the scan list field programmable. I took it to my local radio shop and was told the second (black) programmable button is inoperable. That button is needed to select my scan list while out in the field. I called another radio shop and they are telling me that its probably just an issue with the programming software at the first radio shop. Is it possible for a newer version of the software to not accept that button or is it more than likely just a defective radio. Any help on this topic is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should be able to program the scan list on the visar, it is just a matter of programming. if the scan on/off button is held down, it should go into scan program mode, then the other side button can add/delete modes and you'll know based off of the 'Z' scan indicator.
