Post by dispatcher7586 »

Hello, I have an ht1250 and it will not pick up a tranmission. it will transmit, but it wont pick up anything. Plus it has the top red led blinking.

What may be the problem. The firmware version is 5.12.02.

Thanks

Wrong RX PL programmed.... Try holding down the monitor button if you have one programmed and see if you hear the traffic then..

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

I made sure the PL was correct. I tried 2 different Tx and Rx freqs with the correct PL and it still didnt work. The firmware was upgraded to 5.12.02 recently.

Find the correct pl. Contact your system admin/ radio shop and they should have it. Or get a device like a service monitor or pl counter and count it yourself. Sorry there is no quick and easy way other than that or trial and error.

No no no, I have the correct DPL tones for each channel. Its just that I do not understand why the radio is doing this?

Ah, if they are DPL codes, look at the invert dpl checkbox. If they are checked, uncheck them. If not try checking them, maybe the dpl's are inverted and they did not tell you. Also, does it happen with pl codes? or only dpl.

Blinking Rx LED but no audio implies that some unmute condition that is programmed has not been met. In addition to the foregoing suggestions, review the codeplug to be sure that the channel has not been inadvertently programmed for SelCall or Call Alert.

is this happening when you are scanning? try removing the pl/dpl and set it to csq and make shure you don't have the invert box checked. if you have the red light flashing you are recieving, you have a rule enabled that's blocking out the audio. see if you have something like your recieve section set to "and" with qcII or something like that? and is this the only channel it's doing this on? i'm assuming the audio does work on other channels? and did this just start happening out of nowhere or after being programmed?

I have an VERY early HT750 at work v1.00.01 firmware that does the same thing. I thought the firmware upgrade would fix it but it did not work,it must be a hardware issue on the early boards. If you use pl's its ok but it will loose about the first 2-3 seconds of every conversation so we don't use it anymore. You may get run over in that amount of time. Those early HT750's made them switch to Kenwood.

Guys, thank you so much. I was able to fix it. It wasnt the tuning, PL and invert. It was the tanapa letter that was wrong. Thanks again :)

When you use the inofficial lab flashgrade kit on a radio and force in the wrong codeplug, things tend to not work well. The problem is the O.P. didn't tell any of us the radio had been monkeyed with. Glad he got it working though.

I have seen that happen before when an HT-750 has been modified. Usually switching from the "A" to the "B" codeplug or vise versa will correct the problem.

Radio will just constantly flash as if it is receiving something but never does.
