Astro Saber - What batterys will work in the AVA ?

Post by wyldman »

I have a bunch of Astro Saber AVA's I'd like to use,but unsure what batteries will properly fit in the AVA.

I have some aftermarket 2600 mah batteries, but they seem to be too long. The radio won't sit down far enough to allow it to lock into the AVA.

I'd like to go with something shorter and lighter, but it has to fit,and charge in the AVA,so it must be Ni-cad or NiMH.

Any recommendations ? Cheap is good too. These will spend 95% of their life in the AVA,if not all the time.

I assume I could even use a non-functional battery just to get the AVA to power the radio.I'd even take some old dead used ones just to get the radios functional in the AVA.

Thanks

NTN8251A or NTN7251A are both mid sized batteries. I took a dead battery that no charger would charge, shoved it in the AVA, and brought the battery back to life, and now getting 6-8 hours from it.
