Simulcast Fail Question

Post by SO_RSU12 »

We are looking at adding a 4 site Simulcast to our current 700MHz Smartzone system. My question is can anyone tell me what happens when one leg of the site fails...what happens to that site and how does it affect the rest of the systems operation?

When one leg of the cell fails, one leg of the cell fails. That's it. That site goes off the air.

If you disable a channel at one site in the cell, that channel is disabled system-wide.

If the cell itself loses connection to the Zone Controller, it drops into site trunking.

If the cell loses connection to the prime site controller, then all sites except the prime site go off the air, and any colocated prime RF site drops to failsoft.

GET REDUNDANT CONTROLLERS. If I can say anything, it's that.
