OTP - VX-800 vs VX-150 accy plugin

Post by n9upc »

Sorry for the OTP but I can not find anywhere else to post this with people who know more about radio's then to take them out of the bubble pack and place them on Channel 1 code 4!

On the back of the VX-150 (Ham HT) you can remove the battery and on the radio underneath the black sticker is a reported plug-in port/jack for add on boards.

Now being that the VX-150 is the HAM version of the VX-800 (PS) can add-on or encryption boards, etc... be plugged into that port? Now note: I am not looking to do encryption on the ham band, but I am looking to be able to monitor my families FCC business licensed freq that runs encryption on it, and I also want to play with SmarTrunk in the ham bands and they make a plug-in board for the VX-800.

So are the plug-ins the same OR different pinouts? If know one knows then can I have help being pointed in the right direction????

I am not sure on this one. The VX150 may not have the interface to the uP to use the option board(s).
